Explore the Sacred Valley with Peru Alive and transform your life on this dream journey!

Participants:

This sacred journey is suitable for all people; however, it requires acclimatization at a height of 12,500 feet.

Classification:

Cultural, adventure, ethnic.

We visit the city of Puno, one of the most tourist-friendly cities in Peru, located on the shores of sacred Lake Titicaca. Puno's main economic engine is tourism, but it is also an important mining and port city. Many travelers pass through here to reach other destinations in the neighboring country of Bolivia. One of the most significant cultural events in Andean culture is held here—the Virgen de la Candelaria festival, which starts on January 30 and continues until February 10.

As part of this sacred earth journey, we will visit the floating islands of Uros, which still exist today in a group of 40 islands. These islands, made of floating reeds called "Totoras," are inhabited by indigenous descendants of one of the oldest cultures in America. Their way of life is deeply connected to sacred energy, with their main sources of subsistence being fishing, hunting, and weaving intricate tapestries. The number of families on each island varies from 3 to 20, with islands of different sizes. It is recommended to bring coca leaves and lemon candies to alleviate oxygen deficiency.

Continuing our Cuzco spiritual travel, we will explore the island of Taquile. Here, a walk is required, but it is truly rewarding due to the breathtaking landscapes and the ancient route that leads us through a place filled with mystical beauty. The island’s inhabitants are primarily engaged in agriculture, preserving their traditions and connection with Andean spirituality.

Taquile is the largest island on the Peruvian side of the lake, with its highest point, Mount Lakastiti, standing 320 meters above the lake’s surface and reaching 3,810 meters above sea level. A hike to the top offers a magnificent panoramic view, where the magic of the sacred journey merges with the natural beauty of this land.

DAY 1: CUSCO – PUNO

We start this sacred journey by traveling by bus for approximately six hours until we reach Puno. Along this ancient route, we will witness breathtaking landscapes, passing through the majestic Andes of Peru, where herds of llamas and alpacas graze peacefully on the hills.

This journey offers a deep connection with Andean culture, as we traverse the vast Altiplano, an almost flat geography that provides stunning panoramic views. Upon arriving in Puno, we will continue our Cuzco spiritual travel experience by heading to our hotel, preparing for the next chapter of this sacred earth journey.

DAY 2: UROS, TAKYLE- & AMANTANY AISLAND

After breakfast, we will embark on a boat to begin a sacred journey to the island of Uros, known as the "floating islands" because they are made of Totora cane by the local inhabitants. This unique experience allows us to connect with Andean culture and witness the deep traditions of the people who live in harmony with sacred earth journey practices.

Continuing our Cuzco spiritual travel, we take a boat to Amantani Island. Upon arrival, the local community will warmly welcome us, and we will stay in the home of a local family, embracing the essence of Andean spirituality tour hospitality. We will then visit a small local market where we can find artistic gifts and souvenirs such as hats, gloves, and vests, crafted with the traditions of the Andes.

For those who wish, there is an opportunity to swim in the sacred waters of the lake before we return to our host families' homes to spend the night. In the evening, we have the option to participate in a beautiful celebration with the families of the Takile community, an enriching experience filled with sacred energy and cultural exchange.

DAY 3: TAKYLE- PUNO

After breakfast, we will say goodbye to our host families, who welcomed us into their homes as part of this sacred journey. Then, we will head to the port and board our boat back to the city of Puno, arriving on land in the afternoon.

Now, we have the opportunity to explore the mystical city of Puno, known for its deep Andean culture and vibrant traditions. Here, we can browse local markets and purchase unique travel gifts before continuing our sacred earth journey.

For the night, we have two options: we can rest in a hotel in Puno or take the night bus to Cusco, continuing our Cuzco spiritual travel experience.

DAY 4: PUNO-CUSCO

After breakfast, we will take our vehicle and embark on the final stretch of our sacred journey back to the city of Cusco, traveling for approximately seven hours along an ancient route through the breathtaking landscapes of the Andes.
